Tina Delgado's title at the HELP School is Secretary I. But "secretary" alone doesn't begin to tell you all of the many hats she wears while sitting at the front desk. She is one of the best student advocates in all of alternative education. She is a friend, role model and surrogate mom for our district's most needy kids. She runs our world! If Tina isn't around time stops!
From her own life experiences as her foundation, she tutors students, builds them up and puts them in their place if necessary. Students return to see her and to tell her how they have been doing after HELP School. She remembers their birthdays and knows their families intimately. She is an interpreter for parents and immediately brings smiles to their faces in the midst of the most stressful situations.
She is a wonderful person who tries personally and professionally to always do the right thing. The staff depends upon her as she single-handedly runs all aspects of the school. Secretary? Hardly! There isn't a name for what Tina does for us; she just loves the kids and us every day.
