The Community Day School Scholarship is designed to financially assist qualified applicants in continuing their education. The scholarship is open to students who have at one time attended a Community Day School. Scholarships of $1000.00 each will be offered to students who meet the requirement.
Selection Criteria:
- A senior in high school who will obtain a high school diploma
- Minimum GPA of 2.0
- Must have attended a Community Day School Program K-12
- Maintained 80% attendance
- Plans to attend a career technical school, community college, 2 or 4 year college or university
- Applicants may pursue any field of study
- Full time and Part time studies are both eligible
- Must complete an official application
Application Process
All application materials can be completed on-line and sent to pmccabe@yosemiteusd.com.
To be consider for an award, all of the following must be received by October 31 2008:
- A completed application form
- The latest official high school transcript
- Three letters of recommendation, one from a teacher.
All materials submitted for consideration for a scholarship automatically become the physical property of CDSN and will not be returned to the sender. They will not be used for any purpose except to determine who receives a scholarship for any given academic year. Format of the application form may not be changed in any way.
Candidate Evaluation, Selection, and Notification:
- An Evaluation Committee will be convened comprised of three to five members of the CDSN Executive Board and Board at Large.
- All scholarships will be awarded on an objective and non discriminatory basis, using a procedure that has been approved by the CDSN Board.
- Scholarships will be awarded based on the completed application.
- The scholarship recipients will be notified by January 6, 2009.
- Scholarship recipients name and amount of scholarship will be posted on the CDSN Web site (www.cdsnetwork.org)
- Payment of the Scholarships will be made directly to the educational institute, upon written notification of the student's acceptance into the school.
